An Exercise in Political Compare and Contrast

Journal Entry: Sat Sep 20, 2008, 11:33 AM

Thanks to Delise for sending this to me!

I don't normally spout my politics out loud, but this is simply too, too good (pronounced: "ironic") to keep to myself. It has been said that a people deserve the leaders they elect. If that's true, then this country has a whole lotta bad, bad karma to work off right now.....and if it doesn't change in November, then I'm just gonna wash my hands of the whole lot of ya's and finish preparin' for the comin' apocalypse....

-=b=-

Maybe I'm a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight.....

If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different."
Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers and kill wolves while circling from a helicopter you're a "quintessential American story."

If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
Name your kids Bristol, Willow, Piper, Track & Trig you're a maverick.

Graduate from Harvard law School you are unstable.
Attend 5 different small colleges over six years before graduating, you're well grounded.

If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.

If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive.

If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian.

If you notoriously cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a good Christian.

If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.

If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant, and your 19 year old son was convicted of cocaine usage and cutting the fuel lines on 60 school busses, you're very responsible.

If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America's.

If you're husband is nicknamed 'First Dude', with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now.

Stamps, stamps, stampie stamp stamps!

I have finally collected so many stamps that they don't fit into a single journal. I have organized them into a series of journal entries depending on arbitrary categories I devised myself. Here are the links:

Featured Artist

In the interest of trying to keep this entry short (and save my limited online time for catching up on some of the hundreds of deviations in my message center), I'm going to skip the featured artist link this issue and urge you instead to write a new journal entry of your own featuring one of your favorite artists on dA. Spread the love, folks!

If i had the money available i'd start a line of McCain Waffles ( the breakfast food that changes before your very eyes before you can even finish eating it ! )....and a small tool that looked like a swiss army knife that had nothing but arrows pointing in different directions on swivel mounts called a " McCain Direction Changer "

From most indication i see ..i'd be rich very soon ..and not because they were purchased as gag gifts either...

What do you get when you mix: One part-moronic zeitgeist, One part-racism, One part- love of greed, and One part-flat out ignorant single-issue voters ?

Why America !... and McCain for president of course ! :sarcasticclap:

I am starting a "Duck and Cover" revival ...an instructional school to revive the lost art. It will be my contribution to what's left of humanity.

The frightening development?.. Mail in vote requests are up 100% everywhere...( probably due to "take a trip / give a trip gas prices" ...Dont try and tell me that the slimeball republicans dont have a last ditch plan for underhanded abuse there. Can you spell "FLORIDA" ?

Palin's Husband is also known as "The Enforcer" ..all he has to do is "accidentally " leave his foot in the isle..good chance McCain would go just from a bad fall at his age.

I'm with you... the coming apocalypse needs to be faced, I want that in ground dome home NOW!:rofl::rofl: I am casting my vote that the majority will vote responsibly and President Obama will reside. But there are a Lot of, shall we say, Not-so-bright people out there who are going to go for the bull s**t and not see reality... *sigh I guess we will just have to wait and see what will happen next. ;P

I believe everything for the most part was said in your Journal. Your preaching to the converted my friend.
I've been studying this latest fiasco by Bush with the bailout.
This bill as it stands right now cannot be passed!! It's a piece of bullcrap.

 ...:D

Another way to look at it is this ...

Any election can be reduced down to it's lowest common denominator...which is the bakery that is for sale from local groups sold at any polling place.

In this election ... Would you rather eat a chocolate, pleasant-tasting, moist Obama cupcake stacked with icing offered at a reasonable price ?...or an old, dried-out, crusty, tastelss, vanilla McMcain cake with a cheap coating of sugarless, lipstick-colored frosting that costs more ? ( when you now the group offering the McCain cakes can easily afford to not be so cheap with the frosting )
:iconsevenwillow:
I would NEVER and I repeat NEVER vote Republican lol so I guess you have your answer :D
